Predicted Habitat Suitability Modeling

Individual Species Models

Predicted habitat suitability models are being constructed for any species that has sufficient data for modeling. Model reports include details on input data and environmental variables, modeling methodology, categorical thresholds for inductively modeled predicted optimal, moderate, low, and unsuitable habitats, model rules for deductive models, model performance, maps of output, and links to download layer package files of model output for 1 square‐mile hexagons.

Habitat Suitability for Biodiversity Models

View maps of overall predicted habitat suitability for various biodiversity groups, including:

  • Species of Concern vertebrate animals
  • Species of Concern vascular plants
  • Noxious weeds (cumulative risk of invasion)
  • Native vertebrate animals as a whole as well as mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish
  • Non-native fish

Maps are 10 color classes with hotter colors indicting higher predicted habitat suitability for the biodiversity group selected. For geographic areas of interest, view numbers and lists of species predicted, turn on individual species models, and see summaries by land stewardship.
